Earlier this season trials were held for the Metro South team to represent at the NSW Under 11 State Titles.
Five members of the Macarthur Rams Under 11 Metro Representative League team decided to take on the rest, attending the trials at the Ash Road Sporting Complex in Prestons. With over 60 players from the Macarthur, Southern Districts and Bankstown Associations in attendance competition was obviously hot for inclusion in the final side.
After three days of trials in cold, wet conditions all five Macarthur players made the final cut of sixteen players. Four of those; Jordan Pyne, Keaton Bates, Jared Clarkson and Callum Kermack made the "run on side". Our fifth trialist, Philip Hasiuk, was selected as a "shadow" player or reserve.
The Metro South team went on to be Runners Up at the State Titles, achieving a record of 6 wins, 2 draws and one loss from their nine matches. The Metro South side was the only team to defeat the eventual winners, Metro West.
Congratulations to Jordan, Keaton, Jared, Callum and Philip on their performances; firstly in making the Metro South team and then in the tournament itself. They've certainly shown the level of talent available in the Macarthur Association. Well done boys!
