Cobras' Toby Flynn-Duncombe Voted Under 11's Kanga Cup Player of the Tournament

Campbelltown Cobras Toby Flynn-Duncombe playing in the Kanga Cup tournament was voted the Under 11's player of the tournament.

This was a fantastic honour for Toby to receive this award and also great recognition for his Cobras Under 11 team-mates. The boys bowed out at the Cup Group phase having won one and lost one game. However, they played well throughout the tournament and should be justifiably proud of the way they performed.

The Mount Annan Mustangs Under 16's also bowed at the Cup Group stage, but they too with a bit of luck could have progressed to the final. The Mount Annan Under 10's and Under 13's also competed well and played off in the Plate Group Stage.

All teams performed well, but more importantly played the game in the right spirit and proved to be fine ambassadors for Macarthur Football. Well done to all and also well done to the coaches, managers, parents and supporters.

Cobras & Mustangs Doing Macarthur Proud in Kanga Cup

Campbelltown Cobras Under 11's Division One side under the coaching expertise of Rod Duncombe have been going great guns in the prestigious Kanga Cup being played in Canberra.

From their four games played in their pool the Cobras have won three games and drawn one to march through to the Cup Group stage of the competition. "The boys have been performing well as a cohesive team unit and have played some quality football." Duncombe said. Duncombe was also full of praise for the way the Cobras players have represented the Macarthur region and they have gained the respect of other teams in the competition. The boys will now play two games in the Cup Group with the winner of the group advancing to the semi finals.

The Mt Annan Mustangs Under 16 Division 1 team also got through the Cup Group stage after coming second in their pool. The Mustangs did win last season's Kanga Cup and are on course to hopefully retain the Cup. After starting slowly the Mustangs have rallied and are now playing some excellent football. Like the Cobras the Mustangs play two games in the Cup Group stage with the winner advancing to the semis.

Meanwhile the Mt Annan Under 10 and 13 Division One sides will play off in their respective Plate Group stages of the competition. Both sides performed well against tough opponents and should be proud of their efforts.

All four teams have represented the Macarthur region with distinction and have done us proud. Good luck for the rest of the tournament.
