The 2008 Macarthur Rams Metropolitan League team were asked the following question (below are some of their anonymous answers).....:
|
 |
| "What does it mean to you as a player to play for Macarthur Rams in the Metropolitan League?" |
 |
| |
| "It means a lot to me. It is a big difference for me when compared to playing in local divisions. It is a better league, has better competition, better coaches and get more experience. We play in many different far away areas. We learn a variety of skills and as a Macarthur Rams players you have more responsibility and a better club. It is a great prestige to be a Macartrhur Rams player. Go Macarthur Rams." |

| "It means a lot to me to play for Macarthur Rams because I have a challenge every Sunday. I also like the better coaches (Dave) and I feel I have a better chance to develop. I like being part of a team where everyone is talented and equal." |

| "It feels good because its very fun and challenging because last year in the soccer, the games got a bit boring because we always won like 6, 7-0 nearly every game. So it's good for me and I've learnt a lot." |

"I am turning 12 in May and I have always lived in the Macarthur area. I have played soccer since I was five. I first played for the Camden Tigers then I was selected to play in the training squad for Macarthur Rams and this is my second year playing in the Metropolitan League for the Rams.
For me, playing with the Rams means I am one of the best soccer players in the Macarthur area. This means I get to play and compete against other good soccer players in NSW. To know I am a good player makes me feel good and this makes me try harder. I enjoy playing for the Rams because I get to be taught by a good coach and manager at training and on game days.
I also enjoy playing for the Rams because the players and staff are very nice, kind and friendly. I enjoy playing for the Rams in the first grade team." |

"Playing for the Macarthur Rams in the Metropolitan League means a lot to me even though we haven't been winning every game. We are all learning that from that it is a lot harder than the Saturday comp. Ever since I have been playing soccer I have had 4 coaches and David has been the best. He has taught me a lot more than any other coach I have ever had and I think I have improved my skills.
I try my hardest at training and at the game on Sundays so that I can eventually go on to play for bigger clubs like Australia in the World Cup and Manchester United in the English Premier League.
Now I have trialled for Macarthur Rams and made it. I was and still am happy as I can be. I don't think anyone could understand how glad I was to play for the Rams but more importantly I am proud of playing for the Rams and representing Macarthur in everything we do. So I will do as much as possible to make it into the team next year. So that means I will do everything that it takes to listen to my coaches from now on and I will do as much training as everyone else to make it into the Under 12's next year." |

"To me it is a great honour to represent the Macarthur Rams. It is a goal I wanted to achieve for such a long time. And now that I finally have, all I want is to make both Rams and my family proud by ALWAYS doing my best.
I have played Club Football for 5 years and always enjoyed it, but never as much as what I am now in my first year with Rams.
I have always played, mainly for fun, but now being a part of the Rams, it has given me a bigger challenge, to step up my skill levels and show what I am capable of, as one day I hope to represent Australia." |

"It means to me I have to train and play hard because I am representing my district. It means I have to be good and listen. It means to me I have an opportunity to meet new people. It means to me I want to keep my spot in Rams so I can go to a higher level of Football and maybe one day will be able to play for the Socceroos.
I have an opportunity to learn better things about soccer and I might be able to use them in the future. It means to me I might be able to achieve my goals because I am playing at a better level of Soccer. It means to me I haev a good chance of getting tougher and faster because it is a better competition than the comps I was in last year. I means to me I can slack off because I might not make it next year because I started to slack off. It means to me I have to finish my school work and school projects because school comes first. It means to be I have to do my best." |

"Rams is a high achievement for me because it's a higher and more skilled level than club soccer. Training and games are amazing and I have benefited in skill and fitness.
When you score a goal anytime, it feels like you have won a tournament and the good thing is that it is still fun."
